Do you like my music? Would you like to help me get it out there and known? If so, then here are some easy suggestions that won’t take a lot of effort.
1. You can add one (or all) of the following links to your e-mail signature, forum signature or wherever you can find a good spot to stick a link.
You can use the following banners for any of the links above:
2. Share my music with friends. Tell them about it or better yet show them. Word of mouth is one of the most effective ways to spread anything. You can send an e-mail, send a text message, send an old-fashioned letter, call them, tell them in person, send drum signals or however you prefer to communicate.
3. Burn CDs. I know most musicians/artists probably don’t want you just burning their music to CDs and handing them out to people, but I would actually prefer that you do. I’m not here to make money from my music, I’m here to make music that people will enjoy. And people always enjoy free music.
4. If you use iTunes, create an iMix. If you don’t know what an iMix is, it’s a playlist created by you that is published to the iTunes Music Store. Many people browse for new music using iMixes. To create an iMix, simply create a playlist in iTunes, put whatever music you would like in it (hopefully including some of my music…). After you fill it with music, select the playlist name on the left side of iTunes, then click on the little arrow next to the playlist name. Follow the on-screen instructions and you now have an iMix. Go to the Apple Support Site for a simplified explanation (the link will open iTunes).
And of course anything else you can think of!
